PRIVATE LESSONS
Marguerite is available for private vocal instruction on an hourly basis. All contemporary vocal styles are welcome including original material. All ages are also welcome. Understanding of the voice as an instrument is a primary focus: how to perceive something you don't hold in front of you and get consistent results because of that perception. Another objective is to find and improve your unique styling, studying the necessities that enable you to communicate with the other musicians in compatible terms, understanding the importance of charts and reading music, along with any score of things involved in becoming a better musician. VOCAL ENSEMBLE PERFORMANCES/WORKSHOPS
As vocal director of the Colorado Jazz Workshops collective, Marguerite offers ensemble workshops through this organization which include, separately, improvisation workshops, solo singing, chart writing and rehearsal techniques as well as, on an audition basis, the opportunity to join the Vocal Q's which is a performing 4-part vocal jazz ensemble. This ensemble has 3 years of group experience singing together and has been performing in the Denver area on a small but regular basis. There are sub-categories of ensemble experience available to those who wish to sing in a group but need to polish their reading, improvisation and singing-of-parts skills. This could later enable a person to audition into the existing performing ensemble.
